2019 Jean-Claude Boisset Beaune Premier Cru Les Greves

Jean-Claude Boisset is a family run estate situated in the village of Nuits-Saint-George within the Cote d’Or district of Burgundy, France and northeast of Beaune. Consisting of 74 acres of sandy soils, Les Greves is one of the best-known premier cru vineyards in Beaune. These vineyards are over 70 years old and planted on eastern facing slopes.

The delicate crimson color of this wine reveals classic Burgundian aromatics of mushroom compote, underbrush, thyme, and forest floor. The fruit is brilliant with wild strawberry, pomegranate and baked cherry pie accented with some mineral elements. It remains graceful and elegant throughout the mid-palate and is balanced with a touch of fresh acidity in the back. This wine revealed its youthfulness when tasted two days later. The aromatics became even more pronounced and there was a beautiful creamy texture that dominated the mid-palate. An exquisitely well-made Beaune premier cru.
