2019 Lucienne Lone Oak Vineyard Chardonnay

Owned by Nicolaus Lucienne Hahn, the winery is a separate facility tucked into the Hahn Estates winery, a winery within a winery. As the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation has become one of the most prestigious Chardonnay and Pinot Noir growing regions in California, Lucienne has resolved to focus top vineyard practices, expert winemaking, and the highest quality equipment to produce Pinot and Chardonnay from the exceptional estate vineyards of Lone Oak and Doctor’s Vineyard.
Lucienne’s 146-acre certified sustainable Lone Oak Vineyard sits at the northern end of the Santa Lucia Highlands where it is cooled by ocean breezes from the Monterey Bay. In the glass the color of bright golden yellow aromas is sweet and aromatic, with floral notes, honeysuckle and ripe citrus, lemon custard with a hint of vanilla and banana peel. The palate is sexy, textured and off dry in character, with delicate and elegant notes of silky citrus, hints of toasty oak and medium acidity, minerality and a hint of spice all the way through to the finish. The Lucienne Lone Oak Chardonnay offers plenty of buttery character and delivers all of what you would expect from a beautifully crafted Chardonnay from Santa Lucia Highlands. This is a stunning white that I enjoyed with every taste.
