Champagne Krug Grand Cuvée 172ème Édition

Visionary Joseph Krug established this brand in 1843. House director Olivier Krug is a sixth-generation family member dedicated to maintaining the uncompromising quality of this renowned house. There are 146 wines from 11 vintages that make up the blend. The youngest of the reserves is from the 1998 vintage. It takes 20 years to craft a Krug Grand Cuvée.

The 172ème Édition is a composite of 44% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier based on 2016 reserve wines back to 1998. The Krug Grand Cuvee is always at the pinnacle in the luxury Champagne category. This majestic cuvèe is an artistic expression of the meticulous attention to every detail at the Maison. The luminous golden color and extremely fine, persistent bubbles signal its pedigree. There are a kaleidoscope of aromas with freshly baked pastry dough and delicate white freesia. Lightly shaved ginger, chamomile, toasted hazelnuts, finely ground minerals and saline notes gracefully unravel in the glass with a streak of fresh acidity. The expansive texture of this bottling is classic Krug as it carries you along the memorable and lasting journey.
