2016 Famiglia Pasqua Amarone Della Valpolicella DOCG

The winery of Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine was founded in 1925 in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. This wine is fashioned from the three principal grape varieties of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella that are left to dry on the racks for 100 days before being pressed and fermented.
The 2016 Famiglis Pasqua Amarone is medium ruby in color with a slight mahogany edge. The bouquet is immediately attractive and mature with notes of dried orange peel and apricot. It is expansive and silky on the palate with an assortment of fruitcake spices, raspberry jam, figs and saddle leather. The tannins are soft and finely polished. It is expansive on the entire palate and is nearly angelic in the amount of pleasure it offers on a cold winter night.
