2017 Chateau La Fleur-Petrus, Pomerol

Chateau La Fleur-Petrus was founded in the 18th Century by the Constant family who were owners of Chateau Clinet. The property acquired its name because of its close proximity to Chateau Petrus and Chateau LaFleur in Pomerol. This 45.8-acre parcel of land is situated on a plateau in Pomerol with sub-soils of fine gravel and clay.

One of Bordeaux’s leading wine merchants, Jean Pierre Moueix acquired the chateaux in 1950 and through the years brought world wide acclaim and recognition to this property and its wines. Moueix has exclusivity of many renowned Grand Cru Chateaux in Bordeaux.
The blend is composed of 91% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wines are aged for 16-18 months in French Oak Barrels (50%new) The 2017 Chateau La Fleur-Petrus is an exceptional property in Pomerol that excels in every vintage. This sensuous wine exhibits excellent pedigree, craftsmanship and finesse at every level. The bright ruby hue unravels with an alluring perfume of purple violets and spring flowers. It glistens in the glass with complex, well-defined red berry fruits, savory herbs, melted chocolate, baking spices and a hint of earth. It speaks to you in a sophisticated and graceful tone. Elegant, seamless and near perfection, this wine leads you on an exotic journey into a long and memorable finish. The 2017 Chateau La Fleur-Petrus portrays Pomerol at its finest. This vintage is on even par with Chateaux Petrus.
