2017 Domaines Schlumberger Grand Cru Kessler Riesling, Alsace

The Schlumberger grand cru site of Kessler is 54 acres positioned on sandstone soils. There are hilly curves on this property that protect the vines from the cold North winds with a warming influence. The Kessler Grand Cru is located within Guebwiller on the southeast-facing slopes.

This wine has a glistening medium-yellow color with an enchanting floral bouquet of gardenia blossoms and lilies. There is a slight hint of petrol in the nose. This multilayered wine abounds with richly focused flavors of star fruit, Asian pear and tangerine peels, accented with honey and citron spices in the background. The framework is concentrated and complex with a phenolic richness that keeps you engaged through a long and memorable finish.
