2017 Vina Robles Mountain Road Reserve

The grapes are sourced from Adelaida Springs Ranch at an elevation of 1,700 feet. The wine is composed of a small lot production of Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of 6% Petit Verdot and aged in French Oak barrels for 20 months. This Cabernet Sauvignon has a voluptuous entry with loads of glycerin behind the richly opaque color. Within it showcases an array of baking and fruitcake spices intertwined with blackberry jam, lavender and molten dark chocolate. It is a beautifully crafted effort with tiers of juicy, robust fruits held together with silky, rounded tannins. This wine continued to stay fresh and vibrant one week after opening, which revealed its aging potential, but why wait?
