2018 Et Fille Winery, Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir

A little background: The Kalita Vineyard “is located up ten minutes of gravel roads that wind up to an amphitheater-shaped vineyard that feels like it's giving you a hug when you’re standing in it. This was founded by Arthur and Sherry Kalita and sold to Sokol Blosser Winery. Sherry and daughter Alex designed Et Fille’s tasting room, so there are many layers of friendship with this partnership.”

The vineyard is located within the Yamhill-Carlton District AVA, between 600’-800’ elevation. The clones are 114, Pommard, and Wädenswil.

Color: Ruby, with purple highlights, clear
Aromatics: Dark red fruit, cherry, hint of nutmeg
Taste Profile: Richness, savory notes, ripe tannins that are balanced. Subtle ripe strawberry.
Food Pairings: A pinot noir that would stand up to a grilled ribeye steak; good body and “presence”; “Not a shrinking violet; got some guts!”
