2018 Lynmar Estate Quail Hill Vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir

Lynmar Estate is situated on a unique and picturesque site with rolling vineyards bordered by the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed. The vineyards consist of vines over 40 years old with 15 clones of Pinot Noir and 4 clones of Chardonnay. This state-of-the-art, gravity flow winery and caves are an ideal environment for making and aging ultra-premium wine. The borders that surround the vineyards attract beneficial insects and hummingbirds, providing a natural barrier from pests.

A saturated ruby color with purple edges in the glass lead to aromas of dark cherry, plum, toasted oak, and a hint of tiled earth. The flavor has a rich and creamy mouthfeel of melted milk chocolate and silky tannins. They are all wrapped nicely together with bright acidity. There is a hint of minerality and spice leading to a long finish. I would describe this wine as a classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. It retains power but stays fresh on the palate through the finish. This wine would benefit from a few more years in the bottle by developing more softness and elegance.
