2018 Nicolas-Jay L’Ensemble Pinot Noir

Renowned Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Meo and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg joined their collective talents and love of Oregon Pinot Noir to found Nicolas-Jay Winery. Jean-Nicolas began his winemaking career in 1989 at his family’s estate in Burgundy, France. He fell in love with Willamette Valley’s Burgundy-like charm and mentality. He describes the Nicolas Jay style as a collaboration between Burgundy and Oregon ideas. Nicolas Jay recently established a new 53-acre estate in Dundee Hills.

The 2018 L’Ensemble is a super cuvee of the best vineyard blocks and barrels from each vintage which undergoes an additional six months in the barrel. This deeply cherry red Pinot Noir is brambly in personality with aromas of earth, mushroom compote, and forest floor. It is anchored with black raspberry, dried blueberries and abundant brown spices that coalesce into a multidimensional wine. The creamy core leads you to a memorable finish.
