The most recent release of the Quest is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon in French Oak and Cabernet Franc aged in American oak. In the glass the color displays dark fruit, almost opaque, with deep garnet edges. The aromas reveal a beautiful creamy vanilla, cedar, baking spices with a hint of sweet mint. These aromas continue through the palette and evolve into rich flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and slight herbal accents. The tannins are polished, soft, and silky. The bright acidity coats the palette to create a balanced long finish. Austin Hope has accomplished what I believe is an amazing achievement producing world class Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in Paso Robles AVA.
