2018 Resonance Decouverte Vineyards Dundee Hills Estate Pinot Noir

Resonance is the vineyard and winery acquired in 2013 by Maison Louis Jadot, the great Burgundy house. It was their first acquisition outside of Burgundy. Legendary Jacques Lardiere who was their winemaker for 42 years and oversaw more than 140 different wines from over 100 classified Burgundy appellations came out of retirement to oversee the winemaking at Resonance.

Decouverte is the Dundee Hills vineyard of Resonance. Planted with massal selections Pommard, 777, Coury and 96 clones, driven by red fruit and freshness. 2018 was an exceptional vintage. With a brilliant deep garnet color, the nose is a complex mélange of cherries, plums and almonds with an array of profound spices. The palate reveals elegant red fruits and restrained tannins with a long mineral finish. This wine still retains a youthful personality and will continue to evolve over time.
