2018 Robert Biale Aldo's Vineyard Zinfandel

These grapes were sourced from the Oak Knoll estate vineyards originally planted in 1937. While the majority of this wine is Zinfandel, there are some field blend varietals mixed in which was typical of vineyards planted in this era. This bottling commemorates Bob Biale’s father “Aldo” who was intensely passionate and committed to farming Zinfandel. This Zinfandel has a bright ruby edge and boasts of fragrant aromas of rose petals, dried sage and thyme. Within there is an underpinning of crushed cherries and pomegranate that are framed with baking spices and a splash of lively acidity. This is a sleek and elegantly polished wine which speaks to the style of Robert Biale Vineyards. By W. Peter Hoyne
