Planted in 1905 this wine is nearly 90% Zinfandel and comes from the southern Napa appellation of Coombsville. It is among my many favorites from the Robert Biale portfolio. Medium ruby with an assortment of blackberries, mulberries and macerated blueberries melded together with dark cocoa and roasted coffee. It has an endless creamy mid-palate along with a lovely textural feel. There is a delicate touch of sweet toasted oak that balances the beautiful ripeness and concentration of this wine.
