2019 Archery Summit Dundee Hills Pinot Noir

Gary Andrus launched Archery Summit in 1993. He was infatuated by Pinot Noir and the capacity the Willamette Valley seemed to have for it. The Dundee Hills caught his interest, because it shares similar growing conditions with Burgundy, France, and some of the most acclaimed Pinot Noir vineyards on earth.

As a veteran winemaker with a résumé full of award-winning Napa Valley wines, Andrus sharpened his craft at fellow winery Pine Ridge Vineyards. He founded the label in 1978, going on to specialize in vineyard-designate wines. Today, winemaking is under the guidance of Ian Burch.

The Archery Summit Dundee Hills Pinot Noir is a seductive wine that takes you on a journey of layered aromas and elegant flavors. The color is a rich garnet leading to notes of floral aromas of violets. Intertwined are elements of ripe cherry, raspberry, orange peel, a hint of cocoa and black licorice. The flavors are persistent and saturated throughout the palate with an attractive balance of sweet and savory. The core reveals juicy acidity and silky tannins that linger to a long, refined, delicious finish. The 2019 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir from Archery Summit is a wonderful expression from the Willamette Valley AVA and worth seeking out!
