2019 Beaulieu Vineyards Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

For more than 100 years, Beaulieu Vineyard has been setting the standard for rich, classic Napa Valley wines. Their legacy honors the marriage between state-of-the-art technology and gentle, traditional winemaking methods, a combination that enhances the expression of our remarkable vineyard terroir. From Calistoga in the north, to Carneros in the south, their Beaulieu Vineyard Napa Valley wines reflect this region's diverse terroir with classic varietal character.

The 2019 vintage marks the second release of this Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, and 5% Malbec. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby, opaque color with purple edges. This wine has a pretty bouquet of perfumed dark berries, cassis and notes of baking spice notes. The well-integrated oak shows nuances of cedar, cinnamon, cocoa, and a hint of earthiness. The palate is full of classic Rutherford Cabernet characters. The mouthfeel is saturated and supple with power and complexity. The “Rutherford dust” tannins are finely grained, polished, expansive, and round. Balanced with depth and concentration, leading to a long, persistent finish. A delicious Cabernet Sauvignon representing the very best from the Rutherford AVA. It’s totally drinkable now but will age gracefully for the next 5-10 years.
