2019 Cellier des Dauphins Plan De Dieu Cotes Du Rhone Villages

Founded in 1967, Cellier des Dauphins wines are produced by a group of winegrowers called “Union des Vignerons des Côtes du Rhône” which now reunites 2,000 winegrower families of the southern Rhone Valley. With 12,000 hectares of vines, and around twenty appellations, Cellier des Dauphins has become one of the leading wine producers in the Rhone Valley in less than 50 years and remains one of France’s benchmark Rhone brands.

Cellier des Dauphins is now the first producer of organic wines in the Rhône Valley. Since its creation, Cellier des Dauphins has been devoted to the protection of the environment, the terroir and the transmission of ancestral skills.

At the foothill of the Dentelles de Montmirail is the Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu appellation. In the glass the color shows a deep ruby hue. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes gives this wine spice and black fruit aromas, espresso bean, as well as notes of dried herbs and underbrush. The palate is rich and intense with round tannins, beautifully balanced and acidity that is nicely integrated and persistent, giving this wine length through to the finish. Excellent and serious Cotes du Rhone Villages.
