2019 Chateau Maillet Pomerol

Chateau Maillet was first established in Pomerol in 1820 by Georges Moze of the Moze Berthon Family. There are nearly 11 acres of vineyards on the estate planted to 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc in sub-soils of in clay, sand and gravel. Famed enologist, Hubert de Bouard of Chateau Angelus was brought on as a consultant in this project.

This garnet colored Pomerol reveals subtle aromatics of incense and brown spices. Within this medium-bodied wine are some red-tone fruits of plum and black cherry along with saddle leather, liquid minerals and a gentle offering of herbs de province. The acidity is delicate and fresh, keeping this wine in balance at every point and allowing it to age further in the bottle. This is a well-balanced, value-driven Merlot.
