2019 Dutton Goldfield Docker Hill Vineyard Mendocino Pinot Noir

This wine heralds from the northern reaches of Mendocino County. Fifth generation grower Steve Dutton formed a partnership with winemaker Dan Goldfield in 1998. During his college years Dan became an avid admirer of the wines of Burgundy. As an outdoor enthusiast, he found his way to California pursuing chemistry research and later enology at UC Davis. Dan brought awareness of his winemaking talents crafting wines at Schramsberg, La Crema and Hartford Court before co-founding Dutton-Goldfield.

The long, cool growing season at Docker Hill allows it to be the last harvested of their Pinot Noirs. The medium garnet color reveals soft and loamy aromatics. Fresh orchard cherries and black plums are intertwined with chocolate shavings and a touch of espresso. There is an unmistakeable vibrancy and freshness with the wines from Dutton Goldfield. The fruits are warm and inviting, leading you to a elegant finish.
