2019 Elk Cove Vineyards La Boheme Brut Rose´

Pat and Joe Campbell established Elk Cove Vineyards in 1974. Their son Adam, became winemaker in 1974 when he joined his parents at their family owned winery. Pat’s great-grandfather was Swiss and immigrated to Oregon growing grapes and producing his own wine before prohibition. Joe Campbell was a graduate of Harvard before attending Stanford Medical School. He used his academic background to
teach himself winemaking. Today, Elk Cove has 380 acres of vineyards spread across six estate sites in Oregon.

The 2019 La Boheme Brut Rose´ is composed of 100% Pinot Noir from the La Boeheme Estate Vineyard where the vines have an average of 32 years. This sparkling wine spends three years on the lees in the bottle (en tirage). It reveals a glistening ruby appearance. There is a generous amount of ripe, cherry and red raspberry puree intertwined with yellow citrus undertones, mint and herbs. This expressive sparkler lingers with a finish that is long yet delicate. The emphasis is on a fruit driven style and less on crushed stones and minerality in the background.
