2019 Gary Farrell Rochioli-Allen Vineyards RRV Pinot Noir
Theresa Heredia retains a respect for the traditions of winemaking in Burgundy and professes to pick at the proper ripeness, without over-ripeness, being careful to retain the vibrant acidity from this fog driven Russian River AVA. She has a light touch with her winemaking style and use of barrels. She embraces freshness while striving for elegance and a refined style. What should be known about Heredia is that she is devoutly serious and focused in her mission.
Rochioli–Allen Vineyard was planted by Joe Rochioli Jr and is separated into three parcels with multiple blocks. Rochioli Winery and Gary Farrell Winery have had a partnership for more than 30 years. Once again winemaker Theresa Heredia makes great strides with Pinot Noir that emulate traditional grand cru reds of Burgundy. There is a pale ruby appearance to this wine that unveils aromas of fresh field flowers and a candied spice perfume. There is an essence of tart cherry pie with black currants that unfold in the highly complex core. The finely ground crushed stones and dried spices add to the appealing texture of this wine. The delicate acidity keeps this wine in balance at every level. Be patient to appreciate all that this wine will offer over time.
