2019 Robert Biale Royal Punishers Petite Sirah

: I have followed Petite Sirah for as long as I have been following Zinfandel. This is by far one of the most voluptuous, well-balanced Petite Sirahs that I have ever experienced. The bouquet of purple spring flowers is framed by a sultry amount of crushed, black mixed berries layered in glycerin. It is like biting into a slice of warm, freshly baked blackberry pie, right from the oven. The ripe, brooding core is layered with dark fudge, crème anglaise and exotic fruitcake spices. This wine has plenty of structure and a textural quality that might be referred to as mind blowing. It shines with a powerful and silky elegance that can be savored by itself or easily match with any cuisine. Buy, drink and cellar as much as possible. This is a stellar effort from the team at Robert Biale Vineyards. By W. Peter Hoyne
