2019 Three Sticks Durell Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Three Sticks is a family-owned boutique winery recognized for exceptional Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from their estate vineyards. It is named for the owner’s nickname “Billy Three Sticks” originating from the roman numerals following his formal name, William S. Price III. Their estate vineyards include the highly acclaimed Durell, Gaps Crown and Walala Vineyards. Veteran winemaker Bob Cabral, formerly of Williams Selyem, was a previous Wine Enthusiast Magazine “Winemaker of the Year.” He crafts these wines, sourcing and growing the best fruit with minimal intervention in the cellar.

The Durell Vineyard, famous for its Chardonnay, has also become a showcase for Pinot Noir. Owned by Bill Price since 1997, the vineyard spans the Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Coast and Carneros AVAs. The 2019 vintage fills the glass with beautifully perfumed aromas of baked cherries, brown sugar, and vanilla. The inner core opens with flavors of Bing cherry, raspberry and wild strawberries that are rich, elegant and complex. The perfumed aromas persist through the bright finish. A class act by Cabral and the team.
