2020 Cave de Tain Crozes-Hermitage Nobles Rives

Cave de Tain was founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche. It is located between Valence and Lyon, at the foot of the Hermitage hill. It is in the heart of this historic vineyard of the Côtes du Rhône. Four generations of men with the same passion for great wines continue to develop and market 5 crus. Their appellations are Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage , Saint Joseph, Cornas and Saint Péray. For all these years, a single watchword has been present in everyone's mind: DO WELL! Very early on, Cave de Tain brought together winegrowers and employees in a sustainable development approach. Today, it is clearly one of the main producers of wines from the Northern Rhône Valley.

Of all the appellations, Crozes-Hermitage is undoubtedly the great specialty of Cave de Tain; it alone produces nearly 50% of the appellation. In the glass the color is opaque, deep garnet. On the nose it shows red-berried fruit, Asian spices, meaty, and a hint of nuttiness. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with finely grained tannins. The acidity in this wine is present but remains in the background. We loved how the wine filled the palate with generous layers of silky fruit and nuisances that come together in a long finish. The 2020 Nobles Rives 2020 is drinking very well now and should continue to do so for another few years. This wine represents a success and another amazing value from the Rhone Valley!
