2020 Domaine Anderson Dach Vineyard Anderson Valley Chardonnay

In 2011, the Rouzaud family acquired the Dach family property, a beautiful, small ranch in the heart of Anderson Valley. Over time, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes were planted and the Domaine Anderson winery, designed specifically for small lot production of site-specific Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, was built. The 50-acre Dach Vineyard encircles the winery from the surrounding hillsides. With its marine influence and northeast-southwest facing aspect, the land provides exceptional conditions for the cultivation of pinot noir and chardonnay. Dach Vineyard has 17.5 acres under vine that are farmed organically and biodynamically to create a diversified, balanced ecosystem.

The 2020 Domain Anderson Dach Vineyard Chardonnay displays an elegance of golden hues that sparkle in the glass. The aromas are a warm celebration of baked lemon pie, subtle minerality, a hint of jasmine and nutmeg. Medium to light bodied, the racy acidity carries through the palate with salinity and a slight chalky texture that I found very refreshing and lighter in weight. The 2020 Dach Chardonnay shows a complexity combined with purity in character leading to a more Burgundian style. Bravo to Darrin Low and the Winemaking Team at Domaine Anderson!
