2020 Epoch White

Geologists Liz and Bill Armstrong founded Epoch Estate in 2004. Bill had an interest in Southern Rhone varieties and the calcareous soils of Paso Robles. The Armstrongs purchased the historic Paderewski vineyard and with guidance from Justin Smith of Saxum Winery, planted 65 acres to Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Rousanne. They released the first vintage in 2007. In 2010 they acquired the historic York Mountain winery for their tasting room.

This white is a blend of Grenache Blanc and Viognier with a whisper of Roussanne. It opens with a pale yellow hue and lively floral aromas. The rich mouth-feel gives way to stone peach and apricot undertones with a hint of chalkiness and lemon zest in the background. The finish is refreshing, bright and well balanced.
