Hermann Wiemer began bottling the single-vineyard Rieslings of Magdalena, Josef and HJW in the mid to late 2000’s. The Magdalena vineyard is situated on a warmer and more protected site with sub-soils of lime silt. Pale yellow in color, this Riesling is sultry and immediately attractive with a juicy assortment of tropical fruits. Mango, tangerine, guava and dried pineapple penetrate each of your taste buds as the wine completely undresses on your palate. The complexity and concentration of flavors linger for several minutes as it continues through a long and memorable finish. The acidity is subtle and complements each fruit component.
