2020 Lynmar Monastery Russian River Valley Chardonnay

Lynmar Estate is situated on a unique and picturesque site with rolling vineyards bordered by the Laguna de Santa Rosa watershed. The vineyards consist of vines over 40 years old with 15 clones of Pinot Noir and 4 clones of Chardonnay. This state-of-the-art, gravity flow winery and caves are an ideal environment for making and aging ultra-premium wine. Lynmar Estate was founded in 1990 by Lynn Fritz and made its inaugural vintage in 1994. The estate’s Quail Hill Vineyard in the Russian River Valley had been purchased 10 years prior to the founding of the winery. The name Lynmar reflects the owner’s name and the winery’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Winemaking is under the guidance of Pete Soergel.

Sourced from the coolest blocks on the estate, this wine consists of two clones of Chardonnay, Mt. Eden and Wente. This pale yellow wine explodes with aromas of fresh Fuji Apples and lemon verbena. Within its luxurious core are candied orange rinds, baking spices and slivered almonds. It is all held nicely together with a vein of delicate minerality that accentuates the purity of the fruit while keeping it fresh and bright through the finish.
