2020 Maison Les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage

Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins is a joint venture between three winegrowers from the Northern Rhone. In 2012, Nicolas Jaboulet, the 6th generation of a winegrowing family, Guillaume Sorrel, son of the Sorrel family in Hermitage and Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhône joined together with their collective talents. They began cultivating parcels in Crozes-Hermitage for Nicolas Perrin. In 2015, they changed the name of their project to Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins. Winemaking at Maison Les Alexandrins is under the astute guidance of Benoît Busseuil.

In 1937, Crozes-Hermitage was designated an AOC in Northern Rhone with vineyards planted on the slopes between St. Joseph and Hermitage. This 100% Syrah bottling is deep garnet with aromas of purple violets and field flowers. The juicy, crushed black fruits reveal pleasant acidity intertwined with grilled meat, espresso and black olives. The texture in the middle core is silky and carries through with ripe tannins and an approachable finish.
