2021 Chateau La Louviere, Pessac- Leognan, France

Nestled in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château La Louvière is one of the most iconic names in Bordeaux. With origins dating back to the 14th century, the estate has preserved a rich heritage while embracing modern winemaking innovations. Its neoclassical château, built in the late 18th century, reflects the prestige of the property. Over time, careful stewardship has elevated Château La Louvière to international acclaim.

The estate’s vineyard spans 48 hectares and is planted on deep gravel soils, typical of the Pessac-Léognan terroir. These well-drained, heat-retaining soils are ideal for ripening grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2021 vintage of Chateau La Louviere Blanc is a classic, elegant, well balanced white Bordeaux. The color is pale yellow with light green hues. There are subtle aromas of tropical fruit, white peach, and sweet herbs. The palate has a lovely freshness with lemon zest and a hint of oak that is nicely integrated into the well balanced frame. The acidity lifts the wine with a delicious mouth-feel leading to a long, elegant finish. The Chateau La Louviere Blanc is ready to drink now, but it is still age worthy.
