2021 Hartford Winery Russian River Valley Zinfandel

Don and Jennifer Hartford established Hartford Family Winery in 1993 because of their appreciation for the wines, the people, and the unique vineyards of Russian River Valley. Their first bottlings were released in 1994. Located in the Sonoma County town of Forestville, the winery is nearly 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean and benefits from the cool maritime influence.
Hartford Court’s portfolio are small lots of high-personality single vineyard wines that express the distinctive qualities inherent in each vineyard's terroir - the interplay of soil, slope, exposure, and climate. The fruit is sourced from the Russian River Valley, Green Valley, and Sonoma Coast appellations.

This wine is a composite of old vine and dry farmed Zinfandel from Russian River Valley. The vivid ruby color yields to an extremely floral bouquet of freshly picked red raspberries. These notes carry through into the core which is packed full of red liqueur-like berries, pomegranates and currants with a juicy sweetness balanced by delicate acidity. It remains elegant through the long and caressing finish.
