2021 Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Argentinian native Alejandro Bulgheroni has been successful in developing his company’s business investments. In 2010, he began to acquire a collection of wineries. in Argentina, Australia, Italy, France, Uruguay and California. Alejandro purchased a 15-acre parcel of property from Bill Harlan in 2016, situated in the hills of the Vaca mountain range, east of the town of St. Helena. Michel Rolland is the consulting enologist and Philippe Melka oversees winemaking for these small lot, handcrafted wines.

The fruit is sourced from multiple sites including Rutherford, Oakville, St Helena and Pritchard Hill. This work of art is composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon 12% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. It has an opaque hue with deeply purple edges leading to a floral bouquet of dried rose petals and cinnamon. Within the core is an assortment of wild blueberries, purple plums and crushed blackberries intermixed with anise, roasted espressos beans, sweet toasted oak and a layer of creamy chocolate fudge. The dense fruit is packaged nicely together with velvety edges and silky, rounded tannins. As it glides across your palate to a long, graceful finish, you’re persuaded to take another sip and savor the memorable journey that you’ve just experienced.
