2021 Lopez Cristobal Bagus, Ribera Del Duero, Spain

This wine is composed of 100% Tempranillo that is aged for 14 months in new oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American. The vineyard for these grapes exceeds 80 years old and are sourced at elevations of 2790 feet above sea level.

There is a glistening opaque-purple hue to this gem that is a prelude of the gratification to come. The floral bouquet opens with purple violets showcasing cascading overtones of lush, ripe black fruits. Stunning amounts of black plum liqueur, Marion berries and black raspberry coulis push to the forefront along with crushed Asian spices and a lift of sweet oak in the background. The tannins are very refined and nicely sculptured making this impossible to resist at this early age. This wine represents one of the many values that Spain and especially the region of Ribera Del Duero has to offer.
