2021 Turley Juvenile Zinfandel, California

Turley Wine Cellars was founded in 1993 by Larry Turley. To date they have made forty-seven wines from 50 different vineyards, some with vines dating back to the 1800’s. The vast majority are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs. By focusing on old vine vineyards in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture. All of Turley’s vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and the winery uses all natural yeasts in fermentation.

Hailing from over two dozen vineyards across the beautiful Golden State, the Turley Juvenile is more of a clear bellwether for each vintage than any other wine they make. It is one of the best values in the market for California Zinfandels. In the glass the color is a deep shade of ruby. The aromas are fresh and lively with black cherry, plum, spice, a touch of rich chocolate, pipe tobacco and dried herbs. The palate is richly textured with layers of plush dark fruit, velvety tannins, wonderful balance, and just the right amount of acidity to give the wine lift through the palate to a long, delicious finish. The Turley Juvenile Zinfandel is red wine you can proudly bring to any function or dinner and would be a crowd pleaser!
