2021 Vigneti Zabu Nero d'Avola DOC

Established in 2007 Vigneti Zabù is located in Sambuca di Sicilia. This wine's objective is to showcase Sicily’s indigenous varieties, such as Nerello Mascalese and Nero d’Avola. Sambuca di Sicilia is situated on a hill in the Belice Valley. This town was named for its founder – Al Zabuth the Charming, an Arab Emir. The vineyards are exposed to intense Sicilian sunlight with cool nights that allow the grapes to develop deeply structured flavors. The heat is tempered by its location to Lake Arancio.

Varietal: 100% Nero d’Avola

Tasting Notes: Brilliant ruby with purplish highlights; aromas of ripe red fruits, intense Morello cherry with hints of oregano and balsamic; flavors follow aromatics with added delicate floral notes; pleasant on the palate, unaggressive tannins; with a persistent finish that carries a distinct cherry impression; makes one hope for another glass.

Food Pairing: Roasted red meats, wild game, and herb-infused cheeses.
