2022 Cathiard Vineyard Hora, Napa Valley

The 2022 Cathiard Vineyard Hora is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Malbec. This wine is always made with the younger vines in the estate, typically 5-10 years old and primarily from the benchland soils. The color is medium ruby with lighter edges. The aromatics are distinctive from the initial swirl in the glass. The nose is totally Cabernet. A core of sweet red fruit, anise, spices and dried floral undertones appear to be a consistent character of the 2022’s. The palate is medium bodied, bright, impeccably balanced and juicy with red fruits, a silky texture and a hint of oak. The finish is a fresh mouth-feel of pure delight. The Hora Napa Valley Red is totally approachable in its youth, but will age in the short term with grace for 5-10 years.
