2022 Domaines Schlumberger Grand Cru Saering Riesling, Alsace

This 66-acre parcel of vineyards is planted on heavy sub-soils of limestone. The term Saering means “sea ring” and is sloped along the mountainside forming the shape of a ring. This land was covered by the sea a million years ago and the word ”ring” was used during Roman times to designate their camp.

This wine has a medium-light appearance with aromas of fresh floral elements and earth powder. Within is a mixture of Meyer lemon, lime jelly, pink grapefruit and a light layer of orange rind. The bright citrus notes are fresh and inviting from the beginning until its elegant finish.
