2022 Dutton Goldfield Walker Hill Chardonnay, Green Valley, Russian River Valley

Dutton-Goldfield Winery began with a handshake in a vineyard in 1998, when longtime colleagues and friends Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield recognized a shared vision between them—to craft wines that express the personality of their cool-climate vineyards, and which they'd enjoy drinking at their own dinner tables.

Dutton Goldfield has been producing wine from the Walker Hill Vineyard since 2006, mainly as the backbone of the Dutton Ranch Chardonnay blend. However, in the 2011 vintage, the fruit from this expressive site shines as the jewel of the vintage. That is when it became a single vineyard designate. At 402 cases produced, this wine checks all the boxes of a classic Green Valley, Russian River Chardonnay. In the glass the golden color radiates with viscosity. It reveals mature aromas of ripe apples, candied lemon, and toasted caramel, the palate displays a multi layered style with the acidity giving way to a fresh mouthwatering feel and rich texture. Impeccably balanced with lingering acidity that leads way to a long, caressing finish. Excellence in winemaking! Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield continue to produce some of the finest Chardonnays in California.
