This single vineyard is the highest parcel of the estate and situated at the edge of the Orme aux Loups forest overlooking the entire valley of Sancerre. Aromatics of verbena and fresh field flowers fill the glass on entry. The “Chene A La Rouline” vineyard bottling is a flamboyant offering with more depth and pleasure than the other J De Villebois single vineyards. This elegant wine is graced with succulent and juicy goodness with freshly picked red berries, passionfruit, quince, white currants and array of spices that dance on the palate. The wine tapers slowly at the end with a whiff of chalk dust emerging in the background. The complex and beautifully textured flavors in this wine have beautiful harmony that continue for minutes along its long and memorable journey. The fruit, level of purity and elegance of this Sancerre render a portrait of the terroir.
