2022 King Estate Domaine Pinot Gris , Willamette Valley

Through the years the total acreage of King Estate has grown to 1,033 acres southwest of Eugene, Oregon in Willamette Valley. It is a working farm with 465 acres of vineyards. They are credited with bringing national recognition to the Pinot Gris varietal. The estate is an integrated ecosystem with 143 acres of Pinot Noir, 314 acres of Pinot Gris, and the balance of Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and other varietals.

The nose of this estate grown Pinot Gris is more subdued than its younger sibling. The fruits are deeper and more concentrated offering elements of orange marmalade, candied citron and brown butter along with a slight mineral edge. There is an acid driven component that adds character to this white as it will continue to evolve in the bottle.
