2022 Soter Mineral Springs Ranch Pinot Noir

Tony Soter has had an illustrious career in winemaking and consulting with renowned wineries such as Spottswoode, Shafer, Dalla Valle, Chappellet, Araujo and others. In 1982, he founded Etude Winery placing Carneros Pinot Noir on the map with his many accomplishments. He was a well-known celebrity before returning to his native Oregon roots and establishing Soter Vineyards with his wife Michelle in 1997. In 2001, they converted the 240-acre Mineral Springs Ranch in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Willamette Valley into a biodynamic farm and vineyards. There are 40 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines planted in ancient sedimentary sub-soils.

This Pinot Noir spent 12 months in 45% New French Oak Barrique. This glistening wine displays bright ruby edges with scents of Morello cherries and freshly ground cloves. It is delicately framed with dried rose petals, cinnamon and warm, savory spices that carry through the length of the wine. The mid-palate is soft, caressing and nicely balanced with just enough fresh acidity, keeping everything in perfect balance. The fruit is detailed with polished tannins that keep you returning for another sip.
