2022 Tablas Creek Vineyard Grenache Blanc, Paso Robles

The 2022 Tablas Creek Vineyard Grenache Blanc is Tablas Creek’s
20th bottling of its single-vineyard, 100% Grenache Blanc. The Grenache Blanc
grape is a widely-planted and rarely acknowledged southern Rhone varietal.
It is the white variant of the better-known Grenache Noir. Introduced by Tablas Creek to California in 1977, Grenache Blanc has turned out to be a remarkable success story.

The Grenache Blanc grapes were grown on a Regenerative Organic Certified and biodynamic estate vineyard. It was fermented in stainless steel (for energy), with a smaller addition from large wooden vats “foudre” (for roundness). The pale yellow color reveals elements of mineral complexity in the nose. Deep within the core are elements of preserved Meyer lemons, green apples and quince with a delicate layer of finely, crushed stones. There is an element of fresh acidity that contributes to the lively texture of this white, keeping it fresh and long through the finish.
