This Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is composed of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot. It was aged in 100% French Oak barrels (40% new, 60% neutral) for 15 months. The magenta red hue underscores aromas of freshly picked boysenberries mixed with crushed minerals. Framing the core is an ample amount of black fruits with black raspberry preserves, clove, white pepper and milk chocolate shavings. In many ways, this wine reminds me of the excitement of indulging in a fresh slice of blueberry pie from the oven. The wines tapers gently toward the finish with ripe rounded tannins. As with other Decoy Limited wines, it over-delivers for the price and is worth the adventure.
