2022 Goldeneye Confluence Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Founded on a commitment to quality, Goldeneye brings the tradition of viticultural excellence established by Duckhorn Vineyards in the Napa Valley to the Pinot Noirs of the Anderson Valley. With each new vintage, Goldeneye continues its evolution toward becoming one of the world's premier producers of Pinot Noir. The Duckhorn Portfolio of wines has increased in quality in recent years. Kristen McMahan joined Goldeneye in 2019 rising through the ranks from enologist to now winemaker and is producing some of the finest Pinot Noir in the Anderson Valley AVA.
The outstanding 2023 Goldeneye ‘Confluence Vineyard’ Pinot Noir comes from the estate located in the Anderson Valley. This is a wine of great depth and range. The color is beautiful ruby with garnet hews. It reveals enticing aromas of baked cherry, baking spices, notes of licorice and vanilla. The palate is lush and mouthwatering with a supple texture of ripe red fruit that carries through to a seductive middle. Within the core are flavors of red cherry, perfect acidity and lovely balance giving way to a long juicy finish. Golden Eye has constantly produced some of the best Point Noirs from Anderson Valley AVA. The 2023 Confluence Vineyard continues the tradition of excellence from this producer. It shows how good and approachable the 2023 vintage is for Pinot Noir, ready to enjoy now, but should age gracefully for the next 10 years.
