2024 Bisol 1542 Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG

The Bisol family has maintained a presence in the heart of Cartizze since the 16th century. The 21st generation of the Bisol family is headed by Gianluca Bisol, the President and CEO of winery Bisol. He inherited not only the legacy, but a cultural obligation to cultivate the finest Prosecco from their modest five acre parcel of vineyards planted in ancient marine soils on the highest elevations of the hills of Cartizze. Vineyard elevations exceed 900 feet above sea level. The grapes are harvested in mid-September.

This Valdobbiadene Superior di Cartizze reveals a pale hue with a light-footed, lively mousse. The nose is youthful and graciously unfurls with subtle hints of white flowers, spring herbs and a suggestion of freshly picked, yellow orchard fruits. In the background are freshly baked biscuits. On the palate, there is honeydew melon, lemon meringue, citrus zest, Marcona almonds and quince melded together with a hint of fresh minerality in the background. This wine reveals a complex and intellectual mid-palate. The beauty of this wine resides in its elegance showcasing an obvious Brut style dryness and a subtle undertone of sweetness that is kept in check by its fresh, lacy acidity. There is an uncompromising quality with all of the wines in the Bisol portfolio. This is definitely a gastronomic wine, well suited for any dinner table or as an aperitif. This wine is 11.5% alcohol with 5.5 g/l acidity and 20 g/l of residual sugar.
