Bottega Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG

Bottega, located in the hilly area between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, was established in 1977 by Aldo Bottega. He was a master distiller with more than 30 years’ experience in this sector, who inherited it from his grandfather, a skillful wine merchant during the 20’s. In 1983, when Aldo Bottega died, his son Sandro took over as President of the company, with the help of his sister Barbara and his brother Stefano. Within a few years, Bottega got out of anonymity, thanks to an innovative distillation method that makes grappa smoother and more delicate.

Made from 85% Glera with the remainder Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it measures at a modest 11.5% alcohol level. This Prosecco is pale soft yellow in color with a light consistent foam layer. Aromas are expressive showing white fruit and floral accents. There are notes of fresh cut Honey Crisp apple, apricot and peach, with a hint of delicate citrus and orange blossom. On the palate, the flavors are harmonious and elegant with a wonderful balance of fruit, slightly sweet, but maintaining a freshness from mouthwatering acidity that is persistent and carries through to a clean delicious finish. Excellent as an aperitif or with a cheeseboard.
