Champagne Billecart-Salmon Brut Blanc De Blancs Grand Cru

Champagne Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 when Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon were married. The Maison was established in the family’s hometown of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Seven generations of the family have been engaged with the management of this house. Mathieu Roland-Billecart is the current director. Charles Roland-Billecart, initiated a revolution in quality in 1958 by introducing longer fermentations at lower temperatures and cold settling in the vinification tanks. By 2018, new cellars had been built with the addition of 24 large oak casks.

This bottling is 100% Chardonnay that has been aged for 4-5 years on the lees. It is sourced from grand cru vineyards in the village of Côte des Blancs. This pale yellow beauty glistens in the glass with an ultra-fine and persistent mousse. Focused aromas of buttered pastry and dried white flowers greet you on the entry. It is delicately chiseled with orchard apples, spiced ginger, crushed minerals and a touch of saline.
It dances across the palate to a long and graceful finish.
