Saldo California Zinfandel

Saldo means “I join” in Italian. This bottling is produced by the Prisoner Wine Company in Napa Valley and is sourced from several vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, Lodi and Amador County. The blend consists of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah. This wine needed one day of aeration in order to show its true potential. The garnet color reveals aromas of wild strawberry compote and fresh red plums. While softly textured and medium-bodied in style the core is very appealing with notes of raspberry jam, mocha, and a subtle hint of peppercorn in the background. The Prisoner Wine Company is savvy in making wines that are immediately appealing and pleasing to most consumers.
