The founders are the Moretti Polegato family who have cultivated grapes since the 1922 and have been guardians of the estate since the late 1970s. This winery has a corporate presence and its underground cellars in the historic Palladian villa. There are six estates situated in the DOC and DOCG areas between the regions of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Villa Sandi is the largest owner of estate vineyards in Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, crafting Prosecco Superiore from Valdobbiadene, Asolo and Cartizze DOCG.

The Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG La Rivetta, is a 3.7 acre estate vineyard. This Prosecco has a slightly pale appearance with subdued, shy floral elements. It is light on its feet with sun warmed green apple skins and Meyer lemon zest in the mid-palate. It has some quiet complexities and harmony, then tightens gracefully with crushed seashells in the core. It is drier in personality than other Proseccos, but is best paired with poultry in a citrus butter sauce. The wine is 11.5% alcohol with 5.7 g/l of acidity and 12 g/l of residual sugar.
